The purpose of the Operation Military Kids website is to provide a support network for military families living in civilian communities. While each state that participates in the program may have somewhat different resources, most offer camp opportunities, “hero packs” for military children with a deployed loved one, partnership activities with various community groups, and the Speak Out Military Kids (SOMK) program that provides opportunities for military kids to make presentations about what it’s like to have a loved one deployed.
